CampAgape

Agapé † Kure Beach Ministries is a non-profit organization associated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Between our two sites (Camp Agapé and Kure Beach), we provide year-round, "high comfort" retreat facilities and summer camping programs to all people.

Just 50 minutes from downtown Raleigh, Camp Agapé is located on 624 acres of beautiful rolling hills, cascading streams, and diverse forest. In the past year Camp Agapé hosted 3046 people, 481 of whom were summer campers ranging in age from 8-18.

The beautiful coastal retreat community of Kure Beach is the site of our second facility. In the past year, our Kure Beach facility has hosted 5313 some of which included school groups on overnight trips.

Both sites offer a great time and place apart for spiritual renewal, meditation, group building and planning. We host a variety of groups year round...from scrapbookers, to boy scouts and girl scouts, to youth groups, groups with special needs, and college groups working on leadership requirements just to name just a few.

Another important part of our organization is the Agape Center for Environmental Education (ACE Education) – which offers a valuable service to North Carolina communities. ACE serves over 5200 students and 900 adults in eastern North Carolina. School aged children from Wake, Orange, Harnett and other area counties come to Camp Agape for day-long environmental education field trips. This field trip program is based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study K-12 requirements for science and social studies and is receiving statewide recognition for its quality hands-on approach.
